There are a few ways to add details to your scratch-built models. Two such ways are by using greeble, that is adding details that protude. Or you can add details, like panel lines with a scriber. A combination of both methods will add interest to your projects.
This blog is mainly a place where I can record my current interests. It is also a place where I can showcase my current projects, obtain inspiration, keep track of suppliers, and the many other little things that make-up who I am and what I am presently about.

The Oberon Space Station
The Oberon Space Station as depicted in the Planet of the Apes
The Oberon Space Station seems to be revovling around Saturn which is a bit confusing as the premise of the story is that because of a space storm, the space station ends up on what looks like Earth.

Greeble
As my collection of greeble grows I look for ways to make use of these bits. Greeble adds character to an otherwise to simple flat surfaces.

Concor Yardmasters Office
This one of the many projects that had been started and packed away to complete in the future. Well I have taken it up again. It is a simple project with many fine details included.
I have pondered on this question before, does a grounded caboose have to be used as the Yardmaster's Office, it could be used any kind of office or even for a storage shed for that matter.

The Dark Light Years
“The Utods
There bodies are massive, animal like. Yet they possess physical and mental powers unlike anything known to men.
The Utods
They literally wallow in filth. Yet their world is one of complex philosophy and amazing technology. In addition, their intricate minds that live within their strange gigantic bodies may well determine the destiny of life on Earth.”

A sheet of Board & Batten from Evergreen Scale Models
I have been very slow completing projects this month. I had hoped to complete the cleaner bot and to get started on a board and batten shack. There are two two weeks left in June. We shall see how much I can complete with the time I have left.

A Study In Rust
Corrugated panel is made from cardboard
Although my formulas for representing rust are similar they are never are the same, so I thought I would start to document my rust processes and decide which formula works best.
Color variations of rust can be found in variation of colors such as orenge for new rust too dark brown, for old rust.
Rust can be simulated by using paints, chalk, chemicals, a combination of these methods, and by using other substances like sprinkled cinnamon on a dark base background.
- Brown base
- Medium dry brushing of burnt sienna
- Light dry of “walnut” stain
- A few dollops of walnut, here and there
- A black wash overall
Other posts referring to rust on this blog.

1/4 Scale Wooden Door
1/4 Scale Wooden Door
I built this door sometime ago. I had intended to use on a 1/4 scale wooden shack that I had planned to build.
I believe I used balsa strips, but it could have been basswood. I prefer balsa over basswood for it easy to distress, however it has been a while since creating this piece?

A Host of Characters- Lioobee
"Although Lioobee was an artist, he looked more like a monster. His brown dragon skin would have stopped a knife. Carved silver-tipped horns marked his knees and elbows, and his huge hands, human in design, nonetheless showed eight retractable claws at the knuckles. No silver there. They were filed sharp and were buffed to a polished glow. The hands were for a strangler not the sculptor he was. His arms were high even in proportion to his ten-foot height. They brushed his knees when he stood up.
But his face gave the true nightmarish touch. Eyeless, nose-less marked only by a gash of a mouth and by a goggle-shaped region above it, where the skin was stretched drum head tight."

Known Space: Tau Ceti
"Tau Ceti is a small cool-yellow GO dwarf with four planets. Strickly speaking, none of the plants is habitable. Two are gas giants. The third inward has no air; the intermost has too much. That intermost world is about the size of Venus. With no oversized moon to strip way most its air, it has an atmosphere like Venus: thick and hot and corrosive."

Grog's
"The Grog was psychic or something similar. It could control minds, even minds as insignificant as a sand rat's.
That was the purpose of the Grog's large brain. Its intelligence was a side effect of its power. For aeons the Grogs had called their food to them. They did not hunt after childhood. Once the brain had developed, they never needed to move again.
They didn't need eyes; they had little need of other sensory preceptions. They used the senses of other animals."
The Handicapped, Neutron Star, Larry Niven
Grogs are an alien life form found on the planet "Down" in the Known Space System.

Armageddon Miniatures and Effects
Several of these craft were built all the way up to 1/4 scale. Very interesting behind-the-scenes look at the special effects and the miniatures that went into production of this film.

Greeble Bits
This is another lost and found item I recently acquired. It looks like a spaceship that might have included a projectile of some sort. I have divided the piece in different cut points. I thought these parts might make great greeble bits for other projects.

Robots Under Construction
The following "robots" are part of a upcoming exhibit called the Robot Zoo. These are just a few of the many "robots" that will be exhibited in this collection. They run through the use of hydraulics.
There are lights and sometimes controls to let the viistor manipluate certain aspects of the device. Mechanical unit has not been indentified.
The Crab. Most of the inwards are in plain view. You can see the pipes and hydraulics that help bring the creation to life.
The Grasshopper is one of larger spcimens here.
Most of the units include lights and many include sound. This mechanical unit has not been indentified.
