There is the little thing of needing some paint and then I can glue the copper rod for the induction engine in place.
There are a couple of small greeblies to be added to the base and to the distillation tank. The base was taken from a box of discarded pieces. I have no idea of its orignal proposed use.
I don't rember the manufacturer of this kit.
As of today, this craftment kit or an old water tank sits unfinished.
It is ashame that I never got around to purchasing other mini-scenes from Sierra West. These kits are simple to build and will great once you have added paint and a weathering treatment. These mini scenes are components from their craftmen kits. The package includes wood strips for the tank stand and several resin detail pieces, all finely detailed.
This is the second superstructure for the "four flat cars" (See above) I have completed and the third storage tank I created for this project. I had orignaly created a "metal" constructed storage tank which if you remember, I forgot that the outside dinensions the plastic sheet would increase the overall dimensioins of the tank.Taking the width of the plastic sheet into account I created a second tank. (below)
After seeing someone create an wood storage tank on Pinterest I created my own wooden storage tank. I can use the former on another flat car.

My Collection of Model Railways Storage Tanks
This storage tank one will replace the last storage tank I built and this one will fit niecly on the flatcare. This storage tank measures 18w by 28mm H. This one like the last one is built from the contents of a scrap box. With the exception of the weathering all is complete with this unit.
If my maths are correct this tank would hold a scale 880 gallons of liquid. Now that that I have started working on a wood storage tank, this "metal" tank might be replaced.
All I have yet is the gondola sides for the last superstructure.
I built this for a flat car and although it fits it does overhand just a bit over the sides, so I am not going to use it and have built another storage tank with smaller dimensions.
The tank is built from plastic, scraps from my scrap box. It measures 20w by 30mm high. I will make use of the tank somewhere on my layout.

I am assuming this tank car is of WWI French Design, but it could be from Germany. It might have been used to carry mustard or some other type of gas to the front.
My other "Small Wagons"
It has been some while since I made any posts on storage tanks. The author has created some refinery euipment in miniature using styrene and some randum bits. Although the scale is not mentioned I did find this link when searching for 6mm. Whatever its scale (size) the stucture is small and looks like a functional terrain piece.
Slowley, I am aquiring structures and motive power for the future Tarmuth Layout. The storage tank teeters on clasping with its one side almost rusted out and the storage tank is grimy and full of rust from many years of nelglect.
The tank itself is built from styrene sheet and the details are either frabricated from bits of styrene or from my scrtach box. I don't know which part of construction I like best, the fabercation or the greebling after construction.

Here is another kit-bashed storage tanks which I built sometime ago. It was built by gluing three scotch tape cores together. The piping is from my junk box. While at the office I have had others save tape cores for me for sometime.
I found this tip in Dave Frary's 222 Tips for Building Model Railroad Structures. It is #34 in Kalmbach Books Model Railroad Handbook series. Like anything from Frary, it is must have for any model railroader.
Okay, I really don't know how many fuel stands I have built. This is my second scratch built or should I say kit-bashed storage tank. I build stuff from what I have on hand. The tank is a calculator tape core and I built the stand is built from strip wood. The other bits are from my scrap box.
I don't know what got me started on fuel stands, but I am sure I will find somewhere on my layout to stick them.

I prefer to call them storage tanks, but we will stick to conventions and referr to these metal castings as "fuel stands". I enjoy these small metal kits. The are easy to assemble, paint, weather, and they add a lot of character to a scene.
There is a hose that now I see can be draped about on the wood frame. In the illustration it looks like the wire was attached to the spout and at the time I could not think of an effective way to accomplish this.
