Scratch Built SCIFI Structure Using a Lasor Cutter

The author used a lasor cutter to create a very cool highly detailed SCIFI structure. Perhaps I am not able to build something like this, but it sure gives me plenty of ideas for something simpler.

The Song of Roland

Screen shot from Amazon

"The lord and King of France, Charles the Great
Has spent seven long years fighting Spain.
He has conquered the highlands and the plain.
Before him not a single fort remains,
No town or city wall for him to break,
But Saragossa, on a high mountain
Ruled by King Marsilly the Saracen.
He serves Mohamed, to Apollo prays,
But even there he never will be safe."

The City of Lost Children

The City of Lost Children is full with quirky and eccentric characters. A mad doctor, a geniuses brain in a fish tank, a circus strong man, a troop of wayward children, a sect of blindmen, 7 clones, little-people, a junky with his flies that go around with micro-sized hypodermics hyperdermics, and a set of indentical twin witches that are cojoined at the foot.

I am not sure there is a plot, but the film is a madcap romp through the lens of the camera. The film is a videographer playground with so many rich shots that exude color and texture. The vidographers approuch reminds me of my days shooting with a lomo camera..

“- Krank: Irvin, you know all about feelings. Won't you try to help me? Won't you explain why all those children only have nightmares?

- L'oncle Irvin: Because you are their nightmare. You could persecute all the children in the world, but there's one thing you'll never have.

- Krank: What?

- L'oncle Irvin: A soul.”.

A Song Sung by a Man Waiting to Die

A lark, caught in the hunters net,
And sang sweater then than ever,
As is the falling melody
Might wing and net dissever?

At dusk the hunter took his prey,
The lark his freedom never
All birds and men are sure to die
But songs may live forever.

The song was sung to a maiden in Norman French, the language of the Lords.

A Spell to Make a Dead Man Talk

As I have reported previously the Raven King wasn’t without his rivals. No one makes it to the place of prominence without making a few enemies. But to a king there is no greater crime than the crime of betrayal. And the Raven King suspected one of his subjects of duplicity. The subject was Robert Barbatus, the Earl of Wharfdale. One known for his cunning and his manipulations; the one known as the Fox.

The Earl had a son who had recently died of the fever. The Raven King had him dug up and brought to him. He invoked a spell over him which brought him back. He wanted find out what he knew of the Earls intrigues.
