The Millennium Falcon and Star Wars Trilogy

I have posted other images of the Millennium Falcon and perhaps I have even uploaded this very screenshot. I have always been fascinated by the imaginary space craft and especially the, Millennium Falcon.

The Star Wars Trilogy is a collection of four disks. It includes that first three episodes of Star Wars, including: Star Wars IV, A New Hope, Star Wars V, the Empire Strikes Back, and Star Wars VI, Return of the Jedi. These iconic movies were produced from 1977 through 1983.

Although it has been awhile, I have seen all three of the original episodes, and more recently the prequels, and the sequels. The four-disk set also comes with a bonus disk of materials, which I look forward to browsing through.

I just came accros a large collection imgages that were taken of a scratch built Millennium Falcon. I have to see it to believe the amount of detail in this larger scale model.

This site offering details on how the author scratch-built a 32 inch wide Millennium Falcon primarily out of styrene. There are instructions that detail the steps that the author took to create his Millennium Falcon. The model includes a detailed cockpit, lighting, and 500 amour plates that were painstakingly installed on the model. There are also images depicting the different stages of the Falcon’s development.

The Real-Life War Planes that Inspired the Millennium Falcon

Even with all its quirks the Millennium Falcon was one awesome spacecraft, the Millennium Falcon actually got it start back in later part of the twentieth century. A lot of the inspiration for the Falcon came to us from the Flying Fortress, a WWII bomber. As the following article mentions that George Lucas used WWII footage of dog fights for inspiration when creating scenes for Star Wars and pictures of Flying Fortress for the creation of a model of the Millennium Falcon.

Build Your Own Millennium Falcon from Paper

A few posts ago I made a post about a ½ inch Millennium Falcon that someone had made from Paper. I also made a post about a couple other Millennium Falcon models that were available. Recently, I came across another model. This is another model made out of paper.

Although this model, like the last one in which I made a post, is from Japan, this one free. Download a zip file of 10 PDF’s from here. Print out on a color printer and assemble. Assembly instructions can be found on site and can be translated into whatever language that suits

This model looks like a highly detailed model of the Millennium Falcon and although the online instructions seems to simplify the process, judging from all the components in the PDF’s, I don’t believe that it is going to be as easy to build as the online instructions would have you believe.

An Update on that DIY Miniature Metal Millennium Falcon Model

The model is available directly from Strapya World. They are a Japanese company. They do give some instructions on how to build the model on site, but they are in Japanese. Let us hope the model ships with English assembly instructions. There is a short video clip that explains the process on the home page that could be of some help. The current price for the model is $15 USD and not the $12 as I had last posted and you can add another $10 for postage and handling.

The article calls this model a laser cut metal model kit, but wouldn’t that be considered a photo-etched kit? Whatever the case the model looks like it would fun to assemble and wonder to display

Miniature Star Wars Millennium Falcon

The Millennium Falcon, first publicized in Star Wars IV, is a spacecraft that is commanded by the smuggler Han Solo and is Wookiee first mate. This replica measures 1.27 cm (1/2 inch long) and is made entirely of paper. It is reported that the model took eight hours to complete. Although it probably wouldn't be a project that I would undertake, I am sorry that there are no plans for this model.
