Although the unit still needs some paint I have completed the fabrication of my first robot vermin and frees me up to start #2. The blue bead at the bottom of the unit was added to help stand the unit up. I am planing on creating up to five of these little beasties.
This blog is mainly a place where I can record my current interests. It is also a place where I can showcase my current projects, obtain inspiration, keep track of suppliers, and the many other little things that make-up who I am and what I am presently about.

A Set of Small & Self-Contained Files
Recently, I have been working with micro-sized projects and my small needles files have been a bit too large for my micro-sized spaces. The six micro-sized file blades fit into-the handle. There small size should give me the clearence I need.

The Beginnings of Cyberpunk
Image Creator from Designer, Bing
“The Matrix has its roots in primitive arcade games,' said the voice-over, 'in early graphics programs and military experimentation with cranial jacks. 1 '"
William Gipson, Neromancer
I recently listen to commenter speak about Delany,s "Nova". The commenter mentioned that William Gipson and his cyberpunk novels had many influencers such as Philip K. Dick, Michael Moorcock, Roger Zelazny, John Brunner, J. G. Ballard, Philip José Farmer and Harlan Ellison, all were part of the New Wave science fiction movement of the 60's and 70s.
The following excerpt from "Delany's Nova" even envisioned humans "jacking into" the ships computer system, thus becoming one with it:
"Mouse reached around to the small of his back beneath his vest, and felt for the socket. It had been grafted into the base of his spine cord back in Cooper. He picked up the first reflex cable that looped across the floor to disappear into the computers face, and fiddled with it till the twelve prongs slipped into his socket and caught. He took the smaller, six-prong plug and slipped it into the plug on the underside of his left wrist; them the other into his right."
1 "Cranial Jacks are human-computer interface devices, designed to connect directly to the brain/brain stem in order to control complex machinery."

Star Wars II, Server Droids
"Never underestimate a droid."
―Leia Organa
The Star Wars franchise has given us an unending array of droids types and personalities. A droid is a robot, especially one resembling a human.
I believe one of these is referred to as Dixie. I wonder if these droids are "woke" and expect to be tipped?

Another Robot Kit Completed
Like the last robot I completed , I found this kit at BiteSizedBattles . I went a lot further customizing this copy. Instead of installing the robots legs off the sides I tweaked its legs and moved them to the bottom of the unit.
There were two receptacles on the back of the robot for what I presumed were for accessories. I had none available so I stuck a small piece of plastic tubing in the one at the top and a piece of greeble in the lower one. The lower one could be presumed to be some sort of accessory. I found this bit in a collection of small plastic bits.

Period German Steam Engines
I believe that these steam engines are of German design. I found this and the following in Babylon Berlin. Not a bad depiction of a period train station, as well.
As found on Babylon Berlin.

Building Parts from your Plastic Kit Sprue
As found on Pinterest and followed back to X.
Up to this point, the author has taken the process little further than I have. However I have created greeble and other parts from my kit sprue. The post proves the old adage. One mans trash is anothers treasure. Brilliant!
This is another scratch build article: "Making Working Miniature Hinges" using plastic and scratch built components, and in small scale.

More Robot Bits
I recently found a small plastic bag filled with the remnants of a misprints from a 3-D printer. At first I hadn't thought much of the parts. All I knew was all of the componets were to the robot that did not print properly.
Recently, I examined the parts and Lo and behold there are several pieces that could be worked into some sort of robot. I don't know what will come of the other parts, but they have been thrown into my "junk" parts collection for now.
