It has been a while since I made a post on Mortal Engines, however I recently found a old post by Adam Savage on his scratch build of a Mortal Engines Hand Cannon.

Chouinard Expedition Sewing Kit

I found this sewig kit at the bottom of a side pouch on an old backpack and I a afraid that most of the contents are looking rather sad with mildew and rust. About the only item that wasn't in bad shape was the needle vise.

The kit included two heavy duty sewing needles, the pinvise, a few strieght pins, a couple short pieces of heavy duty waxed threading material, a cotter pin, used to fish a draw string back into a jacket, and cellaphane bag with a button. There are also printed instructions on how to use the contents of this package for various tasks.

The needles and cotter pin are encrusted in rust and will be replaced. Although the pouch doesn't look to bad it could use some cleaning, and then have leather conditioner applied to its surface.

Can Anything Come Out of This?

Can anything come out of this? I save my bits from my projects. I store them inside an envelope or in banking envelopes. Rarley do I go back to see what is in these envelopes. And I rarely bother to take inventory of these bits before starting a new projects. Although I might look for a bit of embossed paper or stone sheet or a scrap of conregated material from time-to-time.

This collection is mainly made up of pieces of cardstock, a couple pieces of matboard and everything in between. Who knows what may come of this mess?

A Star Wars K-2SO Droid

They did a good job with the painting of details on the front of the model.

This droid was not advertized as a K-2SO Droid, but it sure looks like one. The droid stands approximately 120mm. It is a leggy thing and molded from a hard plastic and is highly detailed from the mold and paint. THe droids head, neck, arms, and legs are articulated.

As you can see the model also has some nice molded details on its backend. The question arises, should I take some paint to these details or not.
