An International Diesel

This is another image from that trip to Potter County. I found this International Diesel stuck away in another shed away from the main structure.

Potter County Logging Museum

Between the mill and the loco sheds was much to see at the logging museum.

I should have posted some images from the mill, perhaps another time.

A log disconect sits on a side rail. What's awaiting us in those sheds?

I see something sticking its self out there.

It was a shay locomotive. I haven't seen one of these before.

I knew the Shay was used by logging companies, but I didn't know the particulars for this engine. I am glad the plaque was there.

These photos were taken sometime ago and were taken in Potter County, in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. This a great place to visit. We drove for miles and didn't encounter one car on the highway. Very remote.

Lost & Found: Raggedy Ann Figure

This gal has seen better days and has made it to my “Lost and found series. Although she was played with heavily, even by the family dog, by the looks of the teeth marks on her torso she did clean-up nicely.

After digging her up, another toy found in my garden, she was given a bath and scrubbed with a tooth brush. Once she was dry she was thoroughly inspected. This woman has got some curves. She stands approximately 65mm tall. I don’t know what type of plastic she is cast, but I am guessing PVC? She feels dense and has some bulk has I grip her in my hand. Don't judge.

Reading & Northern Railroad Diesel F Unit

It is another fine autumn day and a great day for pictures. The Reading & Northern Railroad will be treating us to their collection of vintage locomotives over the next month or so. Today, a diesel F unit with a string of passenger cars was sent out to ferry passengers to Jim Thorpe . Where did that guy come from? He wasn't their when I set-up this morning.

Another Candidate for the Gas Lands

Bone Shaker: HCV43

Here is another vehicle for the Gas Lands. It is part of Hot Wheels Dream Garage collection. Mettel started this series back in 2006 and they are still producing vehicles in this mini collection today.

Materials

I recently attended a party where we made Champagne toasts to our host and to many more worthy persons and endeavors. It was within these series of toasts where I had a quick spirt of inspiration. It came as I watched one of the catering staff uncork another bottle of bubble.

The staff person removed the muselet from the bottle and set it down on the counter where I snatched it up. As I studied the muselet I had no idea as to why, how or what I might need this piece of aluminum and brass. It took me a day or two to put it all together.

Here I wasn’t sure if I had any brass wire on hand.

Sandy River and Rangeley Lakes Railroad

The Sandy River & Rangeley Lakes Railroad was a 2 ft narrow gauge that was founded in 1879 that operated approximately 112 miles of track in Franklin County, Maine. It still runs today as a tourist, railfan railroad.

Sandy River and Rangeley Lakes model Railroad features pages of a HO scale model railroad that depicts scenes of the Sandy River and Rangeley Lakes region of the state of Maine. In addition you will also notice the railroad equipment that is geared to Hon30, instead of the 2-foot gauge that is still being used on the tourist line.

X-Raycer-Gas Lands Vehicle #3

Like the last vehicle in this class it is totally automatous. It has a larger surface area and improved solor and battery cells. It can run longer without having to go in hibernation mode. Lastly the lasor includes a power transformer that recycles the beam from the lasor to increase its effectiveness. This allows the lasor to make a series of short blasts faster and increases the power of the lasor by a factor of ten.

For Future Development

Grandt Line: GE 23 Ton Box Cab, Diesel/Electric Loco

This locomotive can be built either in standard or narrow guage (HOn3). When I purchased the model I had hopes of converting it to HOn30.

Highway Miniatures: 15 Ton Mack Locomotive

The loco, like the one above is a dummy, that it is unpowered and is meant to be built in standard gauge.

Tsugawa Yokou 14054 Super Mini Size Motorized Chassis TU-16A (N scale)

Up to this point finding mechanisms for these two models has been exasperating. Now, it seems I might have found a mechanism that work for both of them, albeit it might take some careful adjustments and perhaps a few additions to the kits.

Mack 15 Ton Loco Project

It seems that someone has built a railready loco from this kit.

The Florinian Social Order

“Patrollers were monster in black and silver, from whom one fled as a matter of course, whether one had done wrong or not. ‘May the spirit of the galaxy watch over the squires as they watch over us.’ The Squires were misty and mystical supermen, enormously good, who lived in paradise known as Sark and brooded watchfully and patiently over of the foolish men and woman of Florina.”

The Currents of Space, Isaac Asimov
