Adam Savage's One Day Builds: Mandalorian Amban Blaster Replica!

This aspect is intesting, however the fabrication of this Mandalorian Amban Blaster will be even more so. It must be great to have all the right equipment and materials at hand when working on something like this. Well done!

More Robot Bits

I recently found a small plastic bag filled with the remnants of a misprints from a 3-D printer. At first I hadn't thought much of the parts. All I knew was all of the componets were to the robot that did not print properly.

Recently, I examined the parts and Lo and behold there are several pieces that could be worked into some sort of robot. I don't know what will come of the other parts, but they have been thrown into my "junk" parts collection for now.

Miniature Robot Kit

Ladomér the Robot stands approximately 40mm tall. I found him at BiteSizedBattles on Etsy.

I used my Artistic license when building my copy of Ladomér, which is still in process. I am am putting finishing touches on a scratch built rutsack I have fashioned and of course the specimen will need some paint.

The way I interpeted the build was, the back side allowed the placement for one of the included accessories.

Perhaps the author was being nice for in addition to the accessories, like a small rutsack, a jetpack, a arm with a space gun, and treaded wheels there were extra arms and legs. These parts will go in my kit-bash box and are much appreciated. They will come in handy for future projects.

A Medieval Village in N-gauge

The author used sheets of styrofoam for the base of his diorama.

Most of the miniatures for this n-gauge diorama were printed on a 3-d printer. The author used several different styles of medieval structures and mixed and matched the parts of these to create a verity of differnt structures.

The Old Ladies" Willow & Rose- Gothic Houses

I just found these very inspiring images on Greggs Miniature Imaginations website. The structrues are created from cardstock and the contents were printed using a 3-D printer.

Another 3D Print in Process

I was going to print one 18mm pumpkin warrior, but decided to print a larger Pumpkin Gree. The print was found on Thingiverse and consists of 3 components: a hollow pumpkin, cover, and stem.

At 70 grams is it going to be expensive. This print took me way over budget. Live in learn, and I have learned, for now on, to stick to small prints.

3D Print-An Update

I picked up my 3D print the other day and gently snapped the parts from the raft. All the parts came off cleanly with the exception of one part, the lower torso section. This part was not formed all that well. Well, I suppose that you will have this. Perhaps I should have checked the STL for errors before I printed it. If nothing else it was a learning experience. The process is very fascinating and I will try another print very soon.

My Frist 3D Print

It weighs 16.9 grams, cost me $3.38, and is being printed as I write this. If all works out; it won’t be such a bad price for a unique model of a robot. I found the STL file on Thingiverse. What caught my eye was that the robot comes on a sprue and will have to be assembled.

Another Source for 1/1800 Scale Ships

I have been searching for other sources of 1/1800 scale ships without avail until I hit upon the offerings at Shapeways. Shapeways offers a large collection 1/1800 scale, modern, WWII, and one my current interests 1890 Pre-dreadnought battleships. These models are on the expensive side though, usually in the $5.00 to $10.00 range. The 1890 Pre-dreadnought and other battleships can be had for considerably less in smaller scales.
