Laser cut 1/100 Scale Lifeboat Kit

It looks like it might be a fun kit to build. I recently found a couple additional laser cut wooden kits that deserve another look.

This will be my second item listed under the new label of boat.

Another Miniature from Mattel's Micro Jurassic World Collection

Pyroraptor

I recently acquired this pyroraptor for my collection micro dinosaurs collection.

Although I am not sure the type of plastic used for these miniatures, but I believe they might be cast from PVC.

RV Makeup

The inspiration for these robot vermin came from Head Bunny's 28mm robot vermin collection. Building these miniature robots allows me to use those small plastic bits I have collected.

RV1 Drone

Polystyrene round and square tubing, added micro rod. I used a kit part and a piece of a sprue on the top of the unit. I also used other bits of sprue for sensors. For the fins I used material from bread ties.

RV2 Security bot

Polystyrene square tubing, styrene sheet and micro rod. The sensor on the top of the unit was created with a small bit of styrene that I carved into shape and then I added bits of micro-rod. The appendages were created from bits from a sprue. Lastly, I added a few greeblies that I either had on hand or I created purposely for this unit.

Neither of the RV units are larger than a US dime, nor built to any specific scale. Are you kidding? I haven't seen any scale drawing for these micro robot vermin.

Mini Screw Drivers for Delicate Work

Five miniature screwdriver heads are included under the cap of the machined aluminum handle. There are three types of star-heads, those that are more commonly used by manufacturers, a streight and a philips all geared for electronic devices.

Like I have already mentioned the handle is made from machined aluminum and is quite substantial in its build.

Making Miniature Papercraft Architecture!

I am glad I had a "Micro" label for this post. Otherwise I would have had to create one. These miniature structures look like they will be fun to build, even though they are so very small. You will find links to the card stock models and the tools mentioned under the video on YouTude.

Scale Equivalents

Since I am working with scales that I haven't had too much exposure to I wanted some type of reference to these scales. Magister Militum published a scale guide some time ago.

Micro-Scale Modeling:

How to Construct Tiny, Intricate Worlds From Ordinary Materials

I may have posted something similar to this already and if I did I apologize. However, the amount of detail that the author has added to his creation is astounding and I believe it deserves another look. And to think he uses ordinary materials. See for yourself.

Small World Land

I am severely disappointed that this site did not continue. The author's first post features three miniature layouts, one of those fits in a matchbox. The layouts are wonderfully whimsical. These layouts were picked from many that can be found on 13th JAM Convention report pages.

Micro Layouts

Micro layouts are model train layouts that are small enough to fit into a pizza, shoe, or a match box. Most of these layouts include a circle of track and a few small buildings and some scenery, while others might run point to point. There are two sites that feature these types of layouts:

Carl's site started this venue or at least help make small and miniature layouts fashionable.

13th JAM convention report features many small and micro-sized layouts; some of these being quite whimsical.

20-Gun Sloop of War

These beauties are approximately three-quarters of an inch long and are manufactured by Valiant Miniatures. I purchased these micro-scaled 1/2000 sloops for the Les Petits Pirates print and play game that I recently downloaded, but I don’t think they are going to work on such a small playing service. That would be six ships on a five by eight playing surface. They would definitely look pretty, but I will have look-around for ships that are smaller in size, if that is even possible. Anyone have any suggestions?
