Puerto Borracho, an On30 Railway

When visting this page, please say hello to the thick hombres. This railway is in On30 narrow gauge, that is a O gauge railway that runs on HO gauge or 1/87 track. The scenery is of Mexico and is fabulous, as are the loco's and train cars.

There are also some shorter videos featuring other scenes of this model railroad.

Japanese Critters

How I wish these little beauties were readily available.

The page features both HOn30 and On30 locomotives.

Although I do have a couple of narrow gauge locomotives of this complexity in my inventory, having one or two more wouldn't hurt.

Model Train Sites-Karakuri Karat Creek Lab

Karakuri Lab Karat Creek Lab

Although the author has some recent posts this page is from back in 2019. YHe authors talks of narrow guage trains, mostly On30 guage?

There is a nioce collection of model trains here which are reviewed in as far how they handle and hold on to the track. I find these specimens quite lovely and enjoyed reading through the authors remarks.

Japanese Model Railroad Prototypes

Here is a page of some gorgeous narrow gauge Japanese prototype model railway models. I remeber being introduced Japanese model railroading while reading Narlow Gauge and Short Line Gazette. If my memory serves me right it was a how to article for an On30 diesel engine.

Dreams of a Micro-Layout

The author is dreaming of a 'Louisiana Sugar Plantation' micro-layout and has started the process of creating his dream lyout. Dan has created some drawings, hand laid some track, and has scratch built two strucures for his proposed micro-layout. With my current facination with scratch building small structures the images of his two scratch built sheds perked my interest.

I should have mentioned, the discussion continues on three additional pages. See the bottom right of the page.

7mm (On30) Flat Car

The 2-56 tap and #50 drill bit have arived and the 7mm, or On30 small wagon sits on my workbench belly-up, waiting for a couple of 2-56 screws. I tracked down two hardware stores nearbye that carry these small machine screws. I just need to go and pick a few of these up.

Tool and Material List

Here is my tool and material list for that coupler installation:

Drill & #51 drill bit
Pin Vise & 2-56 tap
2-2-56 screws
KD HO coupler height gauge
A section of HO gauge track for testing height of coupler

The drill bit and tap are expected by the 28 so I don't expect to have that flat car done before the end of month. I have fallen a bit behind in the completion of my hobby projects. Here's hoping I can make a couple of these posts next month.

Mine Train Through Nature's Wonderland

Disney at its best. This fifteen minute video features a few of the more memorial scenes from the Mine Train Through Nature's Wonderland exhibit.

The creator of a condensed Mine Train Through Nature's Wonderland On30 model railroad has been making posts about the progress he has made his model railroad since January 2014. Although his model railroad is "complete" he still maintains his layout and will be making posts when he makes any substantial changes. To get a feel of the process please start on the bottom of his archives and work your way up to the present.
