This blog is mainly a place where I can record my current interests. It is also a place where I can showcase my current projects, obtain inspiration, keep track of suppliers, and the many other little things that make-up who I am and what I am presently about.

The movie staring rolls were: Bruce Willis, Madeleine Stowe, and Brad Pitt.. 12 Monkey's is tale of a futuristic dystopian society who hope to reverse a plague that has driven their generation under-ground. The push their best candidate-Bruce Willis into the future to find the orgianl cause of the epidemtic in hopes, they can somehow change the past and thus change the future. All sorts of set-backs accure because of mis-calculations. Willis is shot dead, however one of his colleague gets on the same plane with the one who had stolen the infectious cultures and presumingly saves the day.

This sign triggers some sort of recognition from Willis and he stops to investigate the location.
“Although it resembled a pig at first glance it had a most grotesquely human mouth and jaw, but with no chin to speak of. Its nose was prolonged into a snout and it had little eyes and queer ears which gave the creature an extra ordinary swine-like appearance. It had a very little forehead and its whole face was an unwholesome white colour. It eyes seem to glow at times with a horribly human intelligence. And its mouth jabbered inanely, and once emitted a half-swine like grunt.”
Chapter 5, The House on the Borderland, William Hope Hodgson.
After reading Hodgson’s The House on the Borderland I got to wondering whether there were any pig-demon miniatures available for purchase. So far I have come up with two pages of posts from a TMP discussion board that made a slight mention of the creatures mentioned in the House on the Borderland. Some have suggested using Orcs for these creatures. Anyone out there know of any miniatures similar to those mentioned in this novel?
After visiting the Splintered Light Minis site and viewing their selection of 15/18mm Animals and Creatures I have an idea for a scene. The scene would include their 15mm Boars #MISC03 and Dire Wolves #MISC08. Each set includes six miniatures. The boars are casted in three poses, while the wolves are cast in six different poses. The scene would be set-up like this. The base would include some low brush, some small rocks, and a well worn run that the boars use to traverse back and forth rooting for food.
The boars are doing what they always do-rooting for food, when they are scented out by the pack of wolfs. Two boars are left to face off two wolves, while four of the other boars take off in flight being followed closely by the four remaining wolfs. So far it looks like the situation is even up, at least with the two on two, however with the running Boars, it only takes one of the wolves to pounce on one the boars from behind it looks like it may happen at any minute) and then it is time for a pork barbecue. That is, if the wolves will wait until the meat is cooked.
The other day while extending a flower bed I came upon the following discoveries: a three foot piece of string, an eight inch piece of rigid plastic tubing, a rusty metal canopy or tent peg, and this duffer. He like the rest of the artifacts was encrusted in dirt, but this duffer did clean-up nicely. Both arms, I presume, swiveled as his right arm does. Where the duffer lost his other arm is anyone’s guess. He is made of a dense hard plastic. Any ideas of this duffers origin?
