Epic Battle Simulator: 11,000 Penguins vs 4,000 Santa Clauses
This blog is mainly a place where I can record my current interests. It is also a place where I can showcase my current projects, obtain inspiration, keep track of suppliers, and the many other little things that make-up who I am and what I am presently about.
To celebrate the ghoulish holiday of Halloween I have created list, a directly of sorts, featuring the books I have read over the past year. These stories feature ghosts, the supernatural, the occult and all things ghoulish.
Let me not fail to mention the posts that I made of my readings of H. P. Lovecraft.
“Communiqué authorized by Mr., Duff Cooper, British Minister of Information, and issued from 10 Downing Street on the night of May 12-13, 1941:
‘Rudolf Hess, the Deputy Fuhrer of Germany and Party Leader of the National Socialist Party, has landed in Scotland in the following circumstances.Shadow of the Wolf, James Barwick
When Rudolf Hess hit the ground after bailing out of the Me. 110 he broke his ankle and he gave Captain Horn his locked attaché case with orders to deliver the contents to a General Walker, an American army officer.
The contents were never delivered to the general, but instead landed in the lap of Franklin Roosevelt. Its contents, at first, a secret to Captain Horn were to bring an end to the war and revealed Germany’s plan to attack Russian and Japans plans to attack Pearl Harbor.
I remember making my first post back in February of 2013, who would have thought I would be making my 1000th post almost two and half years later on this day. It is hard for me to imagine that I have actually made that many posts.
I must thank my fellow bloggers for giving me the inspiration to carry on. Special thanks go out to Hugh Walter and his Small Scale World. Hugh is always making posts on his latest extraordinary finds of just about everything plastic. And I mean just about everything that is small, plastic and irresistible.
My tablets power cord's cable parted at the adapter end and I haven't been able to read off my pad for a good week or so. Instead I was forced to pick a couple unread books off my book shelf. See the last two titles below for my choices.

After a long hiatus I am visiting my dungeon workshops once again, and I plan on getting some painting accomplished.

Ristuls Market Halloween Basing Kit (10 resin miniatures)
This my third or fourth order from Hoard O' Bits. I am amazed as to what can be found here. Now that I am featuring the Game Mini’s series of posts I am looking for other sources of game minis, especially those that are economical.
There a few of these miniatures that will stay unpainted while a couple will end up on the work bench this month.
D&D Castle Ravenloft Bits - Undead ZombieI have given up my Denial Defoe reading for now and have added a few Pulp novels. Four Dr. Fu-Manchu novels toward the bottom of the list represent the pulp novels and there are my usual adventure and sea yarns within the mix.
The Mutineers, Charles Hawes
The Ghost Ship: A Mystery of the Sea by John C. Hutcheson
The Secret of the Island by Jules Verne
The Empire of the Ants, H. G. Wells
The Ghost Kings, Henry Rider Haggard
The Curse of Capistrano (The Mark of Zorro), Johnston McCulley
The Baum Plan for Financial Independence and Other Stories, John Kessel
In Search of the Unknown, Robert William Chambers
The Filibusters, Charles John Cutcliffe Wright Hyne
Dutch Courage and Other Stories, Jack London
Alias the Lone Wolf, Louis Joseph Vance
The Insidious Dr. Fu-Manchu, Sax Rohmer
The Return of Dr. Fu-Manchu, Sax Rohmer
The Hand of Fu-Manchu, Sax Rohmer
The Golden Scorpion, Sax Rohmer
For the New Year 2016, I will keep my list of goals to minimum.
I have already taken in two new games in which I will be making posts very soon. One of the games features Zombies. The game contains a set of paper zombies and defenders.
I need to create properties and characteristics to my Hobbit and the monster miniatures I am in the process of completing.
In the past I have been accused of not providing enough images with my posts. I would like to answer this complaint and provide more media, of all types, to my posts.
Some of the game rules that I have obtained or plan to obtain make use of such characters. I do have a few Pulp figures, but would like to add rocket-men to my collection for I like the characteristics they may bring into game play. I would also like to take in some pirate and perhaps a few Wild/Weird West miniatures.
The Zombie game mentioned above is supplied with paper zombies and survivors that could be replaced with miniatures of the same type.
I am in much need supplies, like a set of paint brushes and color ink for my Ink Jet Printer.
Take the miniatures I already have on hand and combine them into interesting scenes.
Start to collect a few small plastic toys as they make come available. I am especially interested in small monster toys.
I have thought of running a series of posts on a particular topic or subject before, but haven’t been able to implement this in a fashion I am happy with. One topic would be covered exclusively over the course of a month. Material for the month would have to be completed a month in advance. That would mean a good 15 to 20 posts on one topic and would need to be ready to go before the start of the month or at least the majority of the months material would have to be ready to post.
I don’t know when I might get to implement a month long series, but I could conceivable sun short sets of series over the course of a few days or even a week. My first attempt will take place during the second week of January.
