Adam Savage shares some of his philosophy for building in foamcore. Adam builds a box to hold and organize his medical tool collection. Interesting set of tools.
This blog is mainly a place where I can record my current interests. It is also a place where I can showcase my current projects, obtain inspiration, keep track of suppliers, and the many other little things that make-up who I am and what I am presently about.

Detail Scribing and Greeble Creation Kit
I haven't decided on how I may use these tools. Whether I will use primarly for scribing or some of both. I do enjoy creating my own greeble and the templates will make it a bit easier to create more intricate pieces.

My Favorite Bending, Cutting, and Measuring Tool
This is one of my favorite tools when working on "small" projects. Although it doesn't have a cutting edge, it does help in getting a straight cut. I just make sure that one edge of the triangle is perpendicular to the bottom edge while another to the edge being cut.
I am cutting four foot squares out cardstock strips for another structuure for the village. Recently I made use this triangle when bending some cardstock pieces. It worked very well on those small angles of carstock needing a bend.

Camping Gear
Chouinard Expedition Sewing Kit
I found this sewig kit at the bottom of a side pouch on an old backpack and I a afraid that most of the contents are looking rather sad with mildew and rust. About the only item that wasn't in bad shape was the needle vise.
The kit included two heavy duty sewing needles, the pinvise, a few strieght pins, a couple short pieces of heavy duty waxed threading material, a cotter pin, used to fish a draw string back into a jacket, and cellaphane bag with a button. There are also printed instructions on how to use the contents of this package for various tasks.
The needles and cotter pin are encrusted in rust and will be replaced. Although the pouch doesn't look to bad it could use some cleaning, and then have leather conditioner applied to its surface.

Small Projects - 1/ 100 scale Life Boat
The instructions are not the best and parts are very fragile. If I am successful, that is I can remove the lazer-cut parts without breaking anything, it should make for a delicate, neat and eligent model.
It is another of those small projects. Small projects are those that usually lack the complexity of the more multifaceted projects that require hours of work to complete.

Use the Right Tool for the Job
I have added these three files to my workbench. They are small, but not tiny. It all depends on the need.
These are my tried and true needle files. I purchased these some time ago. There were six, I seem to have misplaced my round file. Larger file on the bottom of the photo is either a six or eight inch flat file that I use to square my pieces up.

Model Train Making Process
"A 73-year-old Japanese artisan crafting model trains for decades" I am rather envious of this makers shop. It contains a lot of specialized tools and apparatus. Tools of the trade.

Is it Plumb
THe sqaure measures 100 long and approximaetly 40mm wide and is cast from an aluminum alloy, giving the sqaure some substance. I can set my walls assemblies next to the sqaure and allow them cure and plumb.

New Tools for the Craft
There are times when you need a special tool to fashion components. I thought this kit with its three special blades might come in handy to fashion these parts.
Recently, I was working on a project where I needed to get into a tight spot to snip something and although I did accomplish the chore, I thought there must be an easier way, so when I saw these miniature snippers being advertised I sent for a copy streight away.

A Set of Small & Self-Contained Files
Recently, I have been working with micro-sized projects and my small needles files have been a bit too large for my micro-sized spaces. The six micro-sized file blades fit into-the handle. There small size should give me the clearence I need.
