The Nightmare Before Christmas

The Nightmare Before Christmas

The Nightmare Before Christmas, is a 1993 animated dark fantasy musical. The Nightmare Before Christmas tells the story of Jack Skellington, a prominent resident of "Halloween Town".

The Nightmare Before Christmas: There are plenty of horrors for everyone.

Skellington stumbles through a portal to "Christmas Town" and decides to take the holiday back to Halloween Town. Water and oil do not mix, and while planning to roll-out the new found holiday Halloween and Christmas collide with a lot “dastardly and comical consequences”.

Flatline Games Holloween Expansion

Flatline Games has made a special Print and Play Halloween Special expansion for their very popular Dragon Rage board game available. A quote from back story reads: “a devious necromancer has enchanted a chariot of pumpkins from an unsuspecting vegetables merchant.”

A three page PDF includes statistics and properties for this expansion in English and what I assume is Spanish and a page of counters.

Another 3D Print in Process

I was going to print one 18mm pumpkin warrior, but decided to print a larger Pumpkin Gree. The print was found on Thingiverse and consists of 3 components: a hollow pumpkin, cover, and stem.

At 70 grams is it going to be expensive. This print took me way over budget. Live in learn, and I have learned, for now on, to stick to small prints.

Halloween 2015

Halloween has its beginnings in the ancient Celtic festival of the dead. The Celtics carved Jack O' Lanterns out of turnips or beets and were carved to stave off unwanted visitors.

Here is a set of pumpkins that have set out well beyond their time adding to their dubious aspects.

This concludes my horror and otherwise themed month. Perhaps I will have other months with themed posts.

Start of a Pumpkin Patch

A collection starts with one piece at a time. I never started out to collect pumpkin miniatures, but here I have a start of a collection. These three resin castings are from the Ristuls Market Halloween Basing Kit. I will be adding a few more pumpkins to my collection and hope to creating a haunted pumpkin patch scene later on this year.

Bombshell Miniatures Pumpkin Pal and its Attributes

The Pumpkin Mutant is a 20mm miniature from Bombshell Miniatures. It is part of their Side Kick Collection. This miniature was on my January Projects list.

The Pumpkin Pal does not get a move action, but can grab a hold of you with its creeper vines if a player is within one space of the Pumpkin Pal.

The controller of this creature gets to roll a die. If they roll a 3 they have gotten a hold of a victim. They usually get one unawares; the person believes that they have just brushed against something out in the field. Before too long they feel the vine wrapping itself around their arm, ankle, or worse their neck.

When you start to feel the vine constricting around your bodily member it may already be too late to break free, but on roll of a 3 the player was able to tear themselves away from this insidious creature. This creature kills by constricting, asphyxiation or by the pure horror of it all. What do expect when wandering through a haunted pumpkin patch anyway?
