Monsters of the Shattered World

The podcasts run anywhere from four to about seven minutes and can be listened to on site or downloaded as a MP3 file. The story is narrated and is quite entertaining.

The Foundation

Over the past week I have been listing to a BBC radio drama of Isaac Asimov’s Foundation Series. The original Foundation series consisted of a set of seven science novels. This radio (podcast) is an adaption from what is commonly known as the Foundation Trilogy, which consists the Foundation, Foundation and Empire, and Second Foundation novels.

The BBC has done a very fine job in not only presenting this series, but in also creating sound effects that were created especially for this series. The show consists of eight parts and runs for roughly eight hours.

I do remember reading the Foundation when I was young and remember trying to make sense out of all of it. Listening to the series on my MP3 player while out for a walk has been very enjoyable and has rekindled my interest in Isaac Asimov.

Anyone who loves Science Fiction and or Isaac Asimov should listen to this podcast. I am sure that in doing so it will give you a new appreciation for this author, as it has for me.

Pod Castle-The Fantasy Fiction Podcast

I have always loved to read. I suppose my love of reading came from my parents. My mother was always reading some type of novel and my father a magazine article. There were other influences in my life that fostered reading, there were my uncles and aunts that shared their love reading with me, they used to bring me bags of books that they had just finished reading and there was my sixth grade teacher and the reading contest that took place over the school year. You had to read and give a summary of at least fifty books during the school year.

I wish I still had every book that I ever read; my collection would be enormous by this time in my life. Lately I have been consuming a lot of digital media in the form of e-pubs, and audio books. There are so many sources and publications to download and read or listen to and you really cannot beat the price.
