"In the year 2050, a large asteroid collided with our moon. Among the debris, we discovered a hibernating alien mothership. Now, the Kharn are awake and they want to plunder our precious natural resources. So, we recruited teams of special operatives to defend Earth from their alien threat."

Dollar Zombies

This is kind of a late blog entry. I had wanted to make this post last month; a more fitting time period, with Halloween and all. At any rate, here are some of the lovelies; the only few that were photogenic. It was very hard to keep them contained and they were always wandering off.

The package includes fourteen plastic miniatures that stand approximately two inches tall. My package included thirteen unique miniatures including two tombstones and two different dogs. The miniatures feature some nice detail.

Blog Posts and News

I was browsing Ebay the other day and found a metal HO gauge shack with a stove. I purchased the piece and will make my first post on a new series “Found, 10 Structures for Under $10 a piece”. I was surprised to find many of these economical priced models available. I am under no illusion; many of these structures will need some serious, kit-bashing, distressing and detailing to bring them up to par. It ought to be a fun exercise. Although finding structures in other scales and sizes for this price may be a bit of a stretch I may include structures of other scales and sizes.

I am getting bored with my current postings and I thought about getting back to some micro-miniatures posts.

I don’t really want to accumulate any more toys, but I did see two new play-sets recently at a local Dollar Tree. One of the play sets has a decent looking tank and the other with a very nice horse and covered wagon.

In addition, I still need small collection metal zombies to replace the card board ones that came with a board game that I purchased some time ago. These are on order along with a few micro-sized ships for war-gaming.

Invincible Army Men

The package contains four rubber like soldiers in various poses, two scenery pieces, and a grenade launcher with three rubber grenades. The grenade launcher is like a rubber band launcher. You hook the grenades on the launcher’s hook, pull the grenade back, aim it at one the army men, and let it go.

There are eight different sets, all with the same components, just in different colors. There are blue, tan, red, and green sets. It might be kind of fun to have two sets of these toy soldier sets and see could can knock down the opponent’s pieces first. Doesn’t that sound like fun?

Arcady Brave Warriors Play Sets

I was visiting an area in my county that I rarely get to visit and happened to see one of those Dollar stores. I don’t remember its exact name, but it was one that I had not seen before, so I thought, why not go in a have a look around.

I found several interesting items, two in which I will share with you now. Each of these sets includes two Indian riders, one horse and several scenic pieces that seem to be in 54mm. Although, not top notch stuff, they are painted rather decently.

Set 1

Two Indian braves riders (one with a full head set-presumably a chief), one horse, a Totem pole (but the braves look like they are either plains or Indians from the south west), a cactus, four poles and a wooden roof?

Set 2

Two Indian braves riders, one horse, one prickly cactus, a Tepee, a wooden ladder (sort of out of place here), a fire pit and a stew pot?

Haven’t got around to taking them out of their packaging and assembling them yet. I will leave that for another day.
