The Dilemmas of Roverandom

“Unawares, the two dogs had wandered too near to the shadows edge of the dark side, where all sorts of half-forgotten things linger, and paths and memories get confused.”

Further Adventures of Roveramdom

“… On the white side of the moon, the insects are very large and fierce, and often so pale and so transparent and so silent that you hardly hear or see them coming. The moonbeams only shine and flutter, and Roveramdom was not frightened of them, the big white dragon-moths with fiery eyes were much more alarming; and there were sword-flies and glass beetles with jaws like steel-traps and pale unicornets with stingers like spears, and fifty-seven varieties of spiders ready to eat anything they could catch…"

Pixel Critters

How lucky I am. I put four sets of quarters into the vending machine and received two duplicates. These dense, hard-plastic miniatures stand approximately 20mm tall and has you can see are formed very uniquely from what looks like a 3-d printer.

Kings of War Undead Revenant Troops - Skeletal Dog

Skeletal Dog or is it a giant undead rat? This miniature is molded from polystyrene plastic and measure 10mm tall and is 30mm from the tip of its tail to the end of its snout.

According to Mantic Games Kings of War: Evil Army Special Rules, having one or more of these undead rats or are they dogs, increases the “Evil Dead Rule”. “The unit recovers one point of damage it has suffered for every point of damage it inflicts in a melee.”

A Family Photo

You have seen these miniatures before here and here, but I thought I might bring them together for a family reunion. While they were milling around I got a picture of them together. These miniatures are from the Resident Evil, a board game, that features zombies. This is a game by Twilight Creations.

Walter Merten 1/87 Scale Dogs and Cats

These highly detailed 1/87 scale miniatures of dogs and cats are from Walter Merten, a German company. I don’t know if they are still producing. The newest online catalog is dated 2010. Although their line is quite extensive this is the only set of Walter Merten figures I currently own. They are manufactured using some type of hard plastic.
