3 Lost Miniatures

Recently I was tidying up my paint station and I found these three miniatures in different phases of completion. Now that I have a new set of paint brushes and a lighted magnifier it should make it a bit eaiser to complete these.

And two more...

A Fez monkey and an old badger. With the exception of the thrid from the left in the first set of miniatures and the badger from the second set are all from Bombshell Miniatures.

More Attributes for my Bombshell Miniatures

The Squidman is another of Bombshell Miniatures SideKicks.  The Squidman does not stray too far from shore, but can be found slithering around beaches and marshes the surround the shore. The Squidman is armed with a Galaxy gun, an export grade laser gun.

The squids frequenting these waters off the atoll have recently been visited by alien race of aquatic creatures. These extraterrestrials much resemble the squid. When they first splashed down the earthen squid were among the first creatures that the extraterrestrials encountered. Thus they created a mutant from one of the species. The mutant squid man is about as daffy as apparently the extraterrestrials were in choosing this creature to do their bidding.

The Squidians, as this race is called, assumed the earthen squid were as intelligent as they were, or least they felt that the squids of earth were up to the task, after some modifications that is, to take over the world. So the squids were genetically and physically modified to hold a laser gun, to be able to withstand being out of the water for periods of time, and to say, “Take me to your leader."

Squidmen get a 2 for movement, 1.5 for intelligence, and 3 for dexterity. They can indeed hold a gun, but, not they are not able hold a gun steady. On a roll of 1 they have actually leveled the gun on the correct target and were able to hit the mark.

Attributes for my Bombshell Miniatures, Version 1

In hopes of using my miniatures in some sort of war-game or skirmish I have been adding attributes to all my new miniatures. Here are a few more attribute sets for my Bombshell sidekick miniatures.

Shrapnel

Shrapnel is a Gremlin Airplane Imp is often associated with sky pirates and rocket men. Shrapnel is the master gremlin and corporate troubleshooter, what I mean, is when the normal gremlins cannot seem to get things done, or should I say undone, Shrapnel is sent to make sure projects get accomplished effectively.

Intelligence: 5 (on a scale from 0 to 5)
Shrapnel gets a 3 in the way movement, 5 for innovation.
Shrapnel is put into play only after the failure of normal gremlins
Shrapnel shows up on a 1. A 6 rolled after he enters the scene indicates that he has successfully completed his task.

Tazjh Raptor Hatch-lings

Watch your nose and other protruding facial features; these little hatch-lings are just learning the ropes and will lunge at just about anything their own size. Which in most cases, this refers to a fully grown adult human of normal height.

Intelligence: 2
They get a 3 for movement.
On a roll of 1 the raptor has gotten hold of you and is munching away on anything protruding from your face.

Eye Slug:

The eye slug is one monstrous creature and just the sight of one of these creatures will make most want to run for the hills. If looks were not enough, the odor emitting from the eye slugs slime will nauseate even the most cast-ironed stomach. In its wake it leaves a thick, sticky, and evil smelling slime. When most smell the odor for the first time they naturally think of something putrid. The odor lingers with you for a while, even after you have taken leave of the affected area.

Eye Slugs are very unworldly in appearance and make up. They move quite slowly and always follow a straight line. Knowing this one can easily outwit this creature simply by hiding behind some object. All objects are obstacles to the Eye Slug for they only know one way-straight ahead.

The Eye Slug is not one of the most intelligent creatures and relies on the scent of his slime trail to retrace its way back. The slime at first is very sticky and has an adhesive quality to it and like fly paper traps any creatures unlucky enough to encounter it. Of course, by instinct, the Eye Slug knows this and will often encounters these poor unlucky creatures on its way back to its den.

Intelligence: 0
Movement: 1.5
On a roll of 1 the Eye Slug has somehow, probably by some misadventure has trapped you in some corner and unless you roll a 3 or better, the Eye slug is enjoying your soft spots immensely

Bombshell Miniatures Pumpkin Pal and its Attributes

The Pumpkin Mutant is a 20mm miniature from Bombshell Miniatures. It is part of their Side Kick Collection. This miniature was on my January Projects list.

The Pumpkin Pal does not get a move action, but can grab a hold of you with its creeper vines if a player is within one space of the Pumpkin Pal.

The controller of this creature gets to roll a die. If they roll a 3 they have gotten a hold of a victim. They usually get one unawares; the person believes that they have just brushed against something out in the field. Before too long they feel the vine wrapping itself around their arm, ankle, or worse their neck.

When you start to feel the vine constricting around your bodily member it may already be too late to break free, but on roll of a 3 the player was able to tear themselves away from this insidious creature. This creature kills by constricting, asphyxiation or by the pure horror of it all. What do expect when wandering through a haunted pumpkin patch anyway?

The beginning of March means we are closer to spring and warmer weather. Although I got some of my older projects out of the way I didn’t get as far as I wanted on my new projects last month, so I have added them to my March list.

Projects for January

I didn’t get as much accomplished as I had wanted last month. I should have factored in “real” life. I am going start to include documentation on my undone and completed projects. So often my undone and completed projects get lost in the shuffle and either get put off or don’t get reported on.

New Projects

  1. Reaper 25mm aquatic fish aberration; this is one of the four miniatures that come with Reapers Aquatic Familiars II.
  2. Bombshell Miniature’s 20mm Pumpkin Buddy
  3. Miniatures from Ristuls’ Halloween Basing Kit

Old Projects

At different levels of completion these are projects that sit languishing on my workbench. These uncompleted projects, usually one or two, are being added to the present list in hopes that they see some action.

Completed Projects

Hoping to keep myself motivated I will keep a running list of my completed projects here. I haven't set any numerical goals, but it should be interesting to see just how many projects I can complete this year.

Bombshell Miniatures MInE Bot

My Bombshell Miniatures 20mm MInE Bot has been completed. After being thoroughly tested here it waits for its first set of instructions. What tasks will it be best suited? It is anyone’s guess what type of tasks it will be tasked with eventually, but judging by the tools it has been fitted with, some industrial job might be a good fit.

Bombshell Miniatures 20mm Doom Bunny

Who would have known that a Zombie had fallen and was lying with its mouth wide open at the top of your borrow. The Zombie instinctively chomped down on the bunnies’ ear when the rabbit stuck its ear out to catch sound of anything that might have been lurking about.

The bunny quickly withdrew its head further into the burrow. It looked horrified on its now nibbled ear and did its best to keep what had happened from the youngsters. The bunny stayed put the rest of the day nursing its young and its ear.

It wasn’t unit the next day that the bunny got out of its burrow to feed. It was not until nightfall that the bunny returned to its nest to find all of her young ones missing. There was plenty of blood and fur leading up to the nest. It was obvious that the Zombies had made another appearance. The bunny picked up the very first defensive instrument it found, but everyone knows the only defense against a Zombie is offence. The bunny has not let that axe out of her paws since.

What’s on Your Work Bench?

Although I have gotten sidetracked, as you might have noticed I have completed my 20mm Bombshell Miniatures Doom Bunny and I have made some head way on the other two projects for this month. I have also been cutting out markers for two of the Print and Play games I have had downloaded recently and hopefully will get to two others before an approaching game night.

I have already cut the markers out for the Battle of Greenbrier River, a civil war battle, and am in the process of cutting out makers for the Battle of Manila Bay, an American and Spanish War game. I also hope to cut out markers for Sink the Bismarck and the Battle of Lobositz. More about these particular games will follow.

My Critters and Other Miniatures have arrived from Bombshell Miniatures

I have been looking forward to ordering miniatures from Bombshell Miniatures ever since I first laid my eyes on them. I can blame a fellow blogger for turning me on to these unique sculpts. My order is as follows:

Bombshell Miniatures Sizes, & Description

Dusty Paige

32mm

Paige is the only human in the mix. Paige is in western attire and is carrying a rifle.

Monkey First Mate

08mm

The first mate is my first “pirate” miniature and will be the smallest that I have painted yet. He carries a short rifle.

Belphegor Winged Monkey

14mm

Don’t have a definite place for this piece yet, but he could be used in some fantasy or pulp adventure

Doom Bunny

20mm

My post- apocalyptic bunny.

Buckshot the Jack-a-lope

20mm

A cross between a Jack rabbit and an Antelope, Buckshot is my first mutant. Buckshot is attired in western grab and is carrying a revolver. Buckshot will most likely be pared up with Paige.

MInE Bot

20mm

MInE Bot is my first robot.

I Have Been Seduced

I have been planning on purchasing a set miniature’s from Elhiem Figures. I have wanted to obtain miniatures for Experimental Playground’s Mutants and Machine-Guns’ RPG. However, recently I was seduced and I have lost all sense of propriety.

While visiting a page from a fellow blogger I came in contact with Bombshell Miniatures and it was love at first sight. For one who is always looking for something unique I found more than a few pieces here that are calling out to be purchased.

I recently made a post on my having received my first order from Splintered Light. These miniatures are in 20mm. I mentioned that I would probably not try to paint anything smaller than 20mm, but now I find myself ready to order a few pieces that are smaller than 20mm. It is their uniqueness that has me throwing restraint to the wind.

More to follow…
